T h e “ R e n e w a b l e E n e r g y S o l u t i o n s & Technologies”(R.E.S.T) Tour, “Towards Actively Building Africa’s First Fully Compliant Green Economy & Renewables-Electricity Subsector”is a Business and Trade Negotiation Summit aimed at sustainably tackling the lingering Power (Electricity) challenges faced by Nigeria via the use of Renewable & Energy Efficient Technologies while successfully navigating the transition towards a Green Economy
The R.E.S.T Tour for Nigeria also seeks to actively provide a unique platform for building strategic partnerships with relevant “Stakeholder-Beneficiary” Institutions under a Public Private Partnership-Pilot Project (PPP -PP) model,and at no cost primarily to test & adapt viable Renewable and Energy Efficiency Technologies for citizens and businesses alike in an ecologically responsible manner.
The Implementation of the R.E.S.T Tour, roadmap/blueprint is expected to break the inertia of stepping into the global sustainability change, strategically attract Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) in Renewables into Nigeria while beaming the light on relevant sectors of the economy with the potential to activate growth and development
Basic Feature the “R.E.S.T” Tour
As a basic feature the “R.E.S.T” Tour, will seek via a detailed pre-selection process to carefully identify and promote under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model and at no cost to successful “stakeholder-beneficiary” institutions, Industry specific renewable energy efficiency projects and pilotprojects that possess huge potential for grass root & nationwide scale up alongside capacity to drive key sectors of the economy, guarantee energy security, create green jobs and accelerate our collective aspirations of being named among the 20 most industrialized nations’ of the world within a socially, economically and environmentally conscious framework by the year 2020.
CARDINAL OBJECTIVES OF THE REST TOUR
- To create a platform for decision and policy makers both in Government, NGOs and the organized private sector to get familiarized with newly developed technologies in the Renewables and Clean Energy industry that can be economically adapted to the Nigerian environment;
- To present participating “stakeholder-beneficiary” Institutions in the “R.E.S.T”, Tour, with opportunities to meet with and foster business collaborations with investors', manufacturers', government agencies, policy makers and consumers of featured Renewable Energy Technologies from Europe, United States and around the World;
- To assist the “R.E.S.T”, Tour, participating “stakeholder-beneficiary”institutions from Nigeria access available international technological and financial interventions for projects and activities in line with their institutional mandate
- To foster increased inflow of trade andinvestment in the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency sector.
- To assist government agencies & public institutions (MDAs) saddled with primary or secondary responsibility of providing solutions to the Nigerian power challenges in solution-driven project developments and budget projections
- To leverage on global technological innovations in the field of Renewables and Clean Energy as a way of promoting standardization and technology transfer into Nigeria;
